EURISCO puts people first. EURISCO scientists are immersed into problems of the real world, in order
to develop deep intuitions about how to interpret the world, but also have a passion to impact the world.
EURISCO encourages and gratifies connections between people. A scientist is not an isolated
person doing his/her work in a corner.
EURISCO deliberately focuses on the design of human-machine systems. Very little is known about integrating
human factors in the design process of complex systems. The only thing we know is that it should be a
cooperative activity, since this is a multi-disciplinary task. A variety of backgrounds, competencies, know-how,
skills, knowledge, etc. is required. The main difficulty and challenge is to articulate various viewpoints in order
to construct a human-centered product.
With its multi-disciplinary (computer science, aerospace engineering, psychology, ergonomics, sociology, business, etc.)
and multi-national team, EURISCO has the ambition to discover new methods, practices and models that would improve the
design and use of human-machine systems in a more humanistic way.
In addition to the permanent staff, specialists in various domains have joined EURISCO for either short-term
or longer-term positions. Some of them were or still are research associates seconded by other educational, research or
industrial organizations.
