Networking
EURISCO has established connections with other organizations world-wide that focus their activities on cognitive sciences and engineering. From 1994 to 1996 (three years), EURISCO was the coordinator of the European RoHMI network (Robust Human-Machine Interaction) funded by the European Comission. Eleven Organizations including University labs and research centers participated in this very successful experience where researchers were seconded to other places within the RoHMI network.
Since, EURISCO has continued to develop its network to foster exchanges and cross-fertilize research effort. In particular, EURISCO's foreign partners are not limited to academia, but extend to to industrial research and development, e.g. Rockwell-Collins and BAE Systems.
EURISCO participates in the HUMANIST network. HUMANIST is a Network of Excellence (NoE). The project is funded by the Directorate General of Information Society of the European Commission under the the Sixth Framework Programme of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities, contributing to the creation of the European Research Area and to innovation (2002-2006).
It gathers the most relevant European research institutes involved in Road Safety and Transport to contribute to the eSafety initiative and to improve road safety by promoting human centred design for IVIS and ADAS.
Partners in EURISCO's network are:
In addition, EURISCO is a member of the board of the French Aerospace National Center for Technological Research (CNRT-AE: Center National de la Recherche Technlogique Aéronautique et Espace), and Eurisco's president is also the co-ordinator of the Interaction Engineering Working Group of the CNRT-AE that includes 18 national organizations.
EURISCO researchers are regularly involved in leading professional societies and associations such as ACM, AFIHM, ANAE, EACE and SELF. they also serve on scientific and technical commitees for evaluation and selection at the European Commission and in national research institutions.
